$10M Fund Will Benefit Local Animal Shelters

UTICA — Gizmo, an 8-year-old female pit bull, and her peers in shelters throughout the area will get a lot of help from the Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties’ largest fund from a living donor.
A $7.5 million donation earlier this year put the Staffworks Charitable Fund at the foundation past the $10 million mark, making it the first fund from a living person to hit that mark, officials announced Wednesday. That person is Anita Vitullo, a New Hartford resident and founder, president and owner of Staffworks.
